La Valencia Hotel La Jolla, CA Wedding | Larissa + Jon

Weddings in Southern California are always so dreamy!! I just love the vibes and the weather is always amazing! We’re based in Las Vegas but we have no travel fees for SoCal weddings when you book us for 6 or more hours! Let me tell ya, it’s a great deal! If you’re having a Southern California wedding, just let us know and we’ll pack our overnight bags!!

Larissa and Jon had a small intimate wedding ceremony on a dry lake bed outside of Las Vegas with just 4 of their nearest and dearest in 2020 in the height of the pandemic. However, they new they wanted to have a big wedding where they could party with all their friends and family that would come from all over the world. Fast forward a year later and they did it! I’m so happy they trusted me to continue telling their love story and this time, I brought Jason along so nothing would be missed!

Larissa and Jon had their wedding celebration in their home town of La Jolla at the beautiful and romantic oceanfront La Valencia Hotel. Jason and I met up with them for the rehearsal to get familiar with the property and check out some spots for photos the next day. We’ll always do this before a wedding, even if we’ve visited the venue before, but especially if it’s a new location for us!

Jason and I started their wedding day with a nice big breakfast and then I made my way to the bridal suite and Jason went to meet Jon and his groomsmen in their room. We got some great getting ready images, along with all the gorgeous details, including Larissa’s gorgeous Louboutin wedding heels!!! Larissa gave each of her bridesmaid a gift of jewelry to wear and then they had a fun champagne toast to kick off the celebrations! Before we knew it, it was time to get into her gorgeous Maggie Sottero wedding dress.

Once it was time for the first look, the bride’s brother had a little trick he wanted to play on the groom! It was hilarious and really made for a memorable moment! Just scroll down to see what I mean!!

Jon was a great sport about it and after we all got done laughing, it was time for his real first look with Larissa! I think it was totally worth the wait! Afterwards we took some photos around the property and then it was time for their sweet ceremony! It was beautiful witness how much love everyone had for them and I knew right then and there why it was so important for them to have all their friends and family share in this moment!

After their ceremony it was off to cocktail hour and reception! Their details were all amazing and I just loved their “Sucker for Love” display with gourmet lollipops that showed guests to their assigned table. Her pink and green tropical vibes were perfect for their beachfront wedding. The dessert table was out of this world and the treats looks almost too good to eat, I said almost because they were delicious!!

The rest of the night was full of heartfelt toasts, an adorable round of the shoe game, and of course, lots of dancing!! We left Larissa and Jon’s wedding with full hearts! XO
