Family Friday | A Quick Update on The Emeric Crew

Hello! It’s been a long time since I shared anything personal about what’s going on with us and I promised myself when I ended my family blog, It’s a Messy Life, that I would continue to share tid bits of our life here too. Why? Mostly for myself, for prosperity’s sake, but also because it’s nice to get to know each other. It’s nice for our couples to see what we’ve been up to because we’re pretty much good friends at this point. It’s also nice for those couples who are looking to find the perfect wedding photographers for their upcoming day to get to know us. Sure, our work needs to spark emotions and make you feel like that could be you in our photographs, but I also believe it’s important that you like your photographers, not just their work. That connection and trust needs to be there to make beautiful, genuine photos. You need to believe that you could enjoy spending time together with your photographer outside of the wedding because hey, lots of times we do! it’s also nice for all the vendors we work with to get to know us. I’m also a big believer in community and what’s a community if we don’t share who we are, right?

So, to all of our blog readers, those couples still looking for a photographer, those who’s photos can be found throughout this blog and website, and those who just like pretty wedding pictures – I invite you to get to know what we’ve been up to. Here goes!

2019 was a super busy year for us! We met lots of amazing couples and got to work alongside wonderful vendors and planners, who have become friends. We worked in some of our favorite venues and locations, plus got to enjoy shooting in new locations locally and even travel to Jamaica for the sweetest destination wedding! Spending time as a family is super important to me and we had a really fun summer together. Our highlights were watching Beatles Love by Cirque Du Soleil, traveling to Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Phoenix, AZ, and going camping in Utah. As important as family time is, I also think it’s important for Jason and I to get away and enjoy time alone without the kiddos! We started the year with a weekend staycation on the strip, which was a lot more fun than I thought it would be to play tourist in our own town. We had a weekend in Lake Las Vegas in August for our anniversary and ended the year with a 3 day getaway to Palm Springs. Wa also enjoyed some date nights, although not as many as I would have liked 😉

I’ll admit, at times it got difficult to juggle it all and the exhaustion was real. However, we have now put systems in place to help with the overwhelm and we are going to take more getaways as needed to revitalize ourselves and our family. We are prepared for another great year and 2020 is already going non-stop!

For 2020 I plan to post a family life update every 3 months, so next time it won’t be so long! If you’ve made it this far, thanks for following along. Please let me know in the comments what you have been up to!

XO, Jessie
