Below is a Q & A with owner and founder Dawn Mickens and see why her and her team are one of my favorite wedding vendors in Las Vegas!

1.    What makes getting married in Las Vegas different from anywhere else—and what do couples usually love most about it?

I believe getting married in Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else and for many couples, that’s exactly the appeal.  Las Vegas gives couples freedom. There’s no waiting period, no residency requirement, and no pressure to do things a certain way. Couples love that they can focus on the meaning of the marriage instead of getting caught up in rules or expectations. Vegas lets you do it “your way”, and that’s really refreshing for a lot of people.

2. What’s something couples are always surprised to learn about the legal side of getting married in Vegas?

One of the biggest surprises for couples is just how straightforward the legal process is. There’s no blood test, no waiting period, and no unnecessary complications. Once the ceremony is complete, the proper documents filed; the marriage is legally recognized everywhere—simple, efficient, and stress-free.

3. How do you help couples feel comfortable and present during the ceremony—especially if they’re nervous or shy?

I actually have a little trick I suggest to couples and simply love using to shake off nerves and help everyone settle in. Right after the last partner comes down the aisle, I’ll suggest a quick “paparazzi moment.” The couple strikes a pose; guests get a few seconds to snap photos, and suddenly there’s laughter, energy, and this fun buzz in the air. It breaks the tension in the best way and helps the couple ease into the moment.  After that moment, we ask guests to put their phones away so they can be fully present.

Even confident couples get nervous once things officially begin, so my role is really to slow everything down. I guide them gently, remind them to breathe, and encourage them to look at each other, not at me or the crowd. When couples feel relaxed and connected, the ceremony naturally becomes more intimate, meaningful, and memorable.

4. Can couples personalize their ceremony, and what are your favorite ways you’ve seen vows or scripts customized?

Absolutely. Personalization is really important to me. I love when couples include their love story, personal promises, cultural or spiritual elements, or even little moments of humor that feel natural to them. The best ceremonies are the ones that truly sound like the couple, not something generic or scripted.

One of the most unique and meaningful personalization moments I’ve seen was an Infinity Mirror unity ritual. The couple held a small handheld mirror together and gazed into it while I spoke about not seeing themselves, but seeing the reflection of the love they’ve built and the life they’re about to create. They then closed the mirror together, sealing their promise to always see each other clearly. It was simple, symbolic, and incredibly powerful.

5. For couples planning a small or last-minute elopement, what advice would you give to keep the ceremony meaningful?

A small or last-minute elopement can be just as powerful as a large celebration. The key is intention. Taking a moment to reflect, choosing words that matter, and being fully present with one another is what makes the ceremony meaningful—regardless of size or timeline.

6. What’s one common myth about Vegas weddings that you wish more couples knew wasn’t true?

One of the biggest myths I wish more couples knew wasn’t true is that Vegas weddings aren’t real, meaningful, or emotional, or that everything here is rushed. Yes, things can move efficiently, but fast doesn’t mean careless. Some of the most heartfelt, intentional ceremonies I’ve ever officiated have happened right here.

Las Vegas is the Wedding Capital of the World for a reason. Couples come here very clear about what they want and why they’re choosing each other. Love doesn’t lose meaning because of the location, if anything, it often finds clarity here.

And just to clear this up too, there are no quickie same-day annulments. Once you’re married, you’re married. This is real commitment, real love, and very real emotion… just with a little Vegas sparkle.

7. You’ve seen a lot of ceremonies—what’s a moment that still gives you chills or makes you smile every time?

After all these years, one moment still gives me chills every time: when couples lock eyes during their vows and everything else fades away. That quiet exchange, the weight of the commitment; the sincerity of the promise—never stops being powerful.

8. If you could give couples one tip to make their ceremony feel unforgettable (without adding stress), what would it be?

Let go of perfection. Stay connected to each other. The most unforgettable ceremonies aren’t flawless, they’re felt.

9. When you’re not officiating weddings, what do you like to do for fun?

I love to travel with my husband – anywhere with sunshine and a beach is always a yes for me. We also enjoy attending cigar events around the country, and I’m a big wine lover, so visiting wineries is definitely one of my happy places. And honestly, some of my favorite moments are the simple ones – hanging out in the backyard by the pool with my grandkids. It’s all about living life to its fullest.
