Capturing an Untraditional Las Vegas Wedding: A Guide

I’m so excited to share this fun untraditional Las Vegas wedding with you today! Lots of couples traveling to Las Vegas for their wedding aren’t sure how much coverage they’ll need. This is especially true if they’re bringing guests and/or want a few different locations. This is why I love to chat with my couples and go over their plans before settling on how many hours of coverage they’ll need.

During our initial chat, Jessica and Kaden told me what they had planned for their wedding day. I then asked what was most important for me to capture from their day. Jessica knew she wanted, getting ready photos before the ceremony and also some portraits in the desert. They agreed that dinner wouldn’t need to be photographed, since they weren’t having toasts, cake cutting, or dancing. So, together we landed on 5 hours of coverage. Check out their day below and use it as a rough guide to see what 5 hours of coverage could look like for you too.

Jessica and Kaden came to Las Vegas from British Colombia, Canada to tie the knot with just a dozen of their immediate family members as guests. They wanted something different from the weddings they’d attended back home and decided Vegas was more their vibe. Although they were having an untraditional wedding, they still wanted to keep some traditional elements to their day, like not seeing each other before the ceremony. We started with one hour of getting ready photos in their hotel rooms at Caesar’s Palace. Then we made our way to the iconic Little White Wedding Chapel for the ceremony.

After the fun ceremony, we took some photos around the chapel, including in the famous pink Cadillac! We then headed for portraits downtown with just the bride and groom. The ceremony and downtown coverage was 2 hours. Our last stop was the desert landscape of Red Rock Canyon for 1 hour. Jessica and Kaden then met up with their family for a private dinner at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant to celebrate their wedding day. The 5 hour total also includes 1 hour of driving to the various destinations.
