There is something so special about what we do. We get to photograph couples in love at the beginning of their new life together as Mr. & Mrs. Occasionally we photograph families and get to see them welcome new additions to their nest. But, when we get to meet and photograph couples like the Moons who have been married for 50 years, well, that is truly a gift. They shared beautiful stories of raising their family, of trips they’ve taken, and of course, some words of wisdom of how to have a successful marriage. And you know what? I listened. I listened because I want our marriage to last 50 years and more. Because I know they are the real deal. Because love is shown in all the little things, like how she adjusted his shirt collar, how held her hand while they walked slowly and carefully along the park’s pathway. It’s in the way he looked at her while he serenaded her right there in the middle of our photo shoot and how she giggled at it. I soaked it all in. I soaked in their love and took a bit of it with me.
